If this keeps up, we may need a special forum, just for hurricanes. Here's a link to the Hurricane Jeanne tracking maps - and Ivan and Karl and Lisa. Bill Allen - Are you going to follow through with your plans to "get out of Dodge" this time?
No, not going to happen. If I don't stay here at the house Peggy's boss has asked her to assist at an evac shelter in Palm Bay. I just wouldn't be comfy leaving her here. I just hope this one doesn't take 40 hours to pass like Frances did. And there is still so much debris piled up at curbside that flying objects should be a real hazard.
And damn it, I had another dive trip scheduled. This time in the Keys and it looks like that is off now.
Here's hoping the roof, windows and garage door remain intact one more time. And I'd really like to be able to get my hands on a generator but they are scarce as hens teeth.
So, my weekend may well be spent in a high school gym with lots of displaced folks trying to sleep with screaming and crying kids, and old folks snoring and farting all night long. Maybe some industrious young lad drilled a peep hole into the girls locker room. I can only hope.

So, I guess you are saying you don't snore or fart? I must be old then, my wife says I do that every night, but I think besides the dog--I'm not the only one. <br> Well sir...you made it this far might as well stay the course. Good luck to you and your family my friend.

Yeah, I guess Jeanne is rolling out the Thunder, pardon the pun, she is smaller, but with all that trash on the ground now. This may be something. Keep your head down Mr. Allen, and family. We are rooting for you.

It's looks like we are in the bullseye again. And it's another slow mover, though not as slow as Frances. They are saying about 25 to 30 hours this time. Usually it's 4 to six hours of bad weather and it's over and the clean up begins. The folks around here are getting kinda storm weary. Just last week that all the traffic control lights were finally put up and working. And with all the debris that is piled up for pick up there will lots of stuff in the wind. Should be interesting again.
We will go to the same place we did last time but hopefully not for as long. I think that serious damage may be a better possibility this time than last. And it will likely be a week or more after the storm before we are back on line. And who knows, it may stay off-shore and things won't be so bad. Mandatory evacuations begin tomorrow morning. Another weekend shot.
In frances we lost our fence, some damage to fascia and soffit and a palm trees is on a funny angle. It might go this time. Other than that we came through OK. Since none of that has been repaired yet it will likely be much worse if the predictions hold true. Oh, our screened in porch's north wall has a funny bend in it. Maybe it won't be there at all by Monday.
Say hi to Gregor for us. Y'all take care.

Bill, So good to hear from you, but sorry to hear that another evacuation is in order. I'm hoping it will head back out into the ocean. All of the news regarding these hurricanes all thru the SE and East coast have been pretty bad. You and Peggy stay safe. Have a fence building party when the season is over! You are in our thoughts and prayers. My brother told me that Blu's mother also lives in Melbourne.
OMG!!! I forgot all about that, she has a twin of my parrot, Kiefer, who is a Congo African Grey. I hope everything turns out OK for all in FL. Stephanie just told me she thought Blu's mother moved, with her new husband, to North Carolina. His mother's sister still lives there though, I'm told.

Time to clear out the old homestead once again. Now I am going to put the computer in the trunk of my car and hope that I can get back on line in a week or 10 days. Y'all take care.
