I'm logged on, I notice Dave Byers is logged on. How do I start a conversation? Tried to invite him to a private conversation, but apparently do not have an adequate level of permission to do so.

You have done it, my friend B/Will. You did start a conversation. Glad you have you with us.

Will -

I thought, as you must, that private messaging meant sending a private email to another forum member - wrong. In the context of this forum, "Private Messaging" means the ability to create entire private forums/message boards that count against our usage and storage allotments. Although it appears that you can send and receive private messages - it is disabled. We simply can not run the risk of footing what could be substantial increase in operating cost for this forum and the website. If you want to contact a forum member, you'll need to send them an email.

We wanted to enable the "message search" function - but due to a quirk in the system, we had to enable and then disable "Private Messaging" to get the "message search" to work. As soon as Infopop fixes the glitch in the search index, the inoperable "private messaging" option will no longer be visible.
