Posted at the request of Tim Wurtz - The memorial service for Karl Haight (Ankara '70) was punctuated with both laughter and tears. It was standing room only as 250 people crowded into a small, mortuary chapel. Most mourners were still in shock at the unexpected passing, Saturday, December 3rd, of such a vital, happy man. The service was lead by the pastor who married Karl and his wife Carol only three-and-a-half years ago. Flower arrangements framed 2 pieces of Karl's art work and a large photo of him. Eulogies were given by a close friend, Karl's two teenage sons, one of his 3 brothers and his wife. I had an opportunity to express condolences to his parents and sister Debbie (Ankara '69). Karl Haight was 53. He leaves behind a wife, 2 sons, a mother and father and 6 brothers and sisters. Sincerely, Tim Wurtz Ankara, class of 1969

Tim; Thank you. I saw you there but did not get a chance to speak with you. He liked you and all you have done for our old High School. Thank you again and God Bless You. Kurt Haight
