Hey dormies,
Remember when the started the Sunday dress up sit down dinners? It was in 67 or 68 we had to get dressed up in coat and tie for the guys, and nice dresses for the ladies, ten we were served choe, the same stuff usually served, except on "china", early type of Corelle ware. You couldn't just breeze in during the surving times, we had to be there, at the prescribed time. Several years later when I was in the dorms at West Hills College, they started thje same thing for Sunday supper, That lasted only for two dinners.

I still remember ironing all of those button down shirts, this was before prema press, so all of the cotton shirts had to starched and ironed including that pleat down the back of the shirt. I remember cors were really in for pants, you didn't have to iron them. We used to clear off the desk place that GI blanket down and do our ironing in the room, which was verboten.
One of the past times was rding the floor buffer down the hall ways. Their was a room where the guys always got the best room award, their floor was so waxed and polished you had to take off your shoes to enter the room. Those guys would put Felix Unger to shame.

Later in my senior year, we could stay up legally after lights out on weekends. Dave Mcallister had a stove he made from salvaged landing lights to warm up frozen pizza, and even cook hamburgers. Along with bilgewater, Wylers Lemonade mixed with Hawian Punch, fritos and bean dip, it was a feast to recall.

Dear Scott,
Yes there was frozen pizzas at the Commisary, the same pizzas that were served at the mess hall along with the reconsistuted milk, and the powdered eggs and potatoes. Another favorite was the frozen mini-tacos, uou couldn't iron them. but the landing light stove was dandy for that. Another favorite during the winter was heating up a can of Dr. Pepper, the recipe was on the can, over the ol' sterno stove. Another essential tools were the church key, and the P-38, the can opener that was used to open your cans found in the C rats.
